How to install
The release is available for download from the official FF Group folder here.
Note: The carGuroo plugin uses integration with Milestone via MIP SDK for initial initialization at the timeof installation.
Please ensure that Management Client and Smart Clients are closed before installing thecarGuroo plugin

Run carGuroo.exe and follow the installation instructions.
ATTENTION!
Running carGuroo
Installation as an Administrator is
required for correct installation.
Confirm Installation
IMPORTANT: When upgrading from version 1.0 to version 1.1, please first deactivate the license, close Milestoneclients and uninstall CarGuru 1.0 using standard Windows tools.
Specify CarGuroo components to install
This case assumes that all Milestone
and CarGuroo components will be
installed on the same host:
In the case of a multi-server system configuration, you
have the opportunity to install carGuroo components on
different hosts.
In this case, starting by installing the carGuroo
recognition server is recommended.
The carGuroo server can be installed on a separate host within the same network segment with other
Milestone components.
Also, within one system you can run several carGuroo recognition servers.
All recognition servers will
be managed through the XProtect Management Client.

Check plugin installation paths and
specify a path for the events data
storing*
*Make sure you have enough free space on your hard drive. Event photos take up a lot of hard drive space.

If there is not enough
space, then change the carGuroo events storing the path to a disk with
at least 180 GB of free space.
Specify the main
communication ports*
Specify PostgreSQL database connection settings.
(In case of updating the existing system enter a proper password for
the PostgreSQL DB.
In case of a new installation specify the
password which you will use for the BD).
If you change default Database credentials, please note they will be
required during further PostgreSQL installation.
*If some of the ports are already
occupied you will get the appropriate
message by clicking the “Next”
button.

port or free it from other applications
and continue with the installation.
Milestone XProtect connection
Choose the authentication method: with Windows user or with XProtect Basic* user.
*Basic user should be assigned to the Administrators group first.
During the first carGuroo installation, it is
necessary to specify the recognition
engine type to be installed.
Choose “LPR module with NVIDIA GPU using” to install the Neural Networks-based recognition engine.

Check the summary info and process installation by clicking “Next”
During the first carGuroo installation it is necessary to install the PostgreSQL database.
After this step, the PostgreSQL installer will be run automatically.
Click “Next”.
Database Setup (PostgreSQL)
Specify the folder to install the database or use the default value.
Select components to install or use the default value.
The PostgreSQL Server component is required for installation.
We recommend to install Postgres by default; don't install StackBuilder.
Please input the password that you previously specified for the Postgres superuser in the previous step with PostgreSQL creds.
Select the port number (the default is 5432)
Skip the Advanced Options step by clicking the “Next” button.
Confirm installation.
Wait for the installer to finish.
The installation of the carGuroo recognition server is now complete.
