As of December 2025 FF Group has officially joined the Axis Communications family. By combining the capabilities of Axis and FF Group, the portfolio of traffic analytics technologies will be strengthened and expertise in high-precision license plate recognition and road event analysis expanded.
Axis Communications has now officially released ALPV (Axis License Plate Verifier) 3.0 ACAP, an edge-based license plate recognition solution for Axis cameras. ALPV 3.0 represents the current Axis license plate recognition portfolio, and we encourage CAMMRA AI customers to take the opportunity to upgrade their existing licenses to ALPV 3.0 now.
Existing CAMMRA AI customers will be able to upgrade to ALPV 3.0 at no additional cost. The upgrade path is designed to be straightforward while preserving the edge-based architecture and Axis camera integration.
Compared to CAMMRA AI, ALPV 3.0 provides:
• Support for Secure Entry, enabling additional access-control scenarios
• Additional configuration and integration capabilities, including configuration wizard, PTZ presets, VAPIX event configuration, and SFTP-based integrations
ALPV 3.0 supports license plate recognition as well as vehicle make, model, and color recognition. It is designed for access control, free-flow, and high-speed traffic scenarios, depending on device and installation conditions. Detected vehicles are logged as events with timestamps and license plate thumbnail images.
Purpose-tuned, ready-to-use kits are now available for free-flow and high-speed traffic, helping simplify installation and ensure consistent performance.
